Feeling Great!

Posted on 7:27 AM by Unknown
It's Monday again! As always I'm wishing that I had the day off to snuggle in bed with my kiddo before getting up and making toast and coffee. Snap back to the reality of a working momma and here I am! I'm at work (don't tell on me for blogging at work, I'm on break) I did have my coffee and toast but it's much less enjoyable when I don't have my kiddo across the table from me.

Let's get down to business...Blair talked today about when it "Clicked" for her. That Click that says I'm not going to be like this anymore. For me, I think it was when I finally decided to get off of my butt and join Weight Watchers. I'd dieted before with no luck, I was always falling off of the wagon and never had the motivation I needed to stay on track. Now that I've joined WW I am being held accountable for my eating habits and food choices. I'm motivated not only by the awesome friends I've made cheering me on but by the change I see in myself. The graph that shows my loss is also amazing, I love it when I get stars for 5 pound goals being met. I got a huge purple star yesterday for reaching my second 5 pound loss and I loved it. Think of it like grade school and getting a star on the star chart for good behavior :-) yes I am a nerd. I'm so happy that I've finally decided to take control over my body and health.

I am happy to say that I lost another pound this week! I'm so happy about being in the 140s even if I am a half a pound away from being back in the 150s. 149.5 is alright by me! I have officially lost 10 pounds and I am so proud of myself for reaching this goal. I would never have thought I could do it 2 months ago and the fact that it's gradual is even better. I know most people don't think so but this means I'll be more likely to keep it off!

I'm able to fit into some clothes that I had packed away for a garage sale, I'm SO glad I didn't get rid of them yet because it's like shopping in my own closet ha-ha. As you already know, I'm very much looking forward to the new me that will be able to proudly wear shorts. Has anyone seen the cheerios commercial of the women stretching and saying "Shorts, Tanks Tops, Swim Suit" thats totally me.

I'm feeling great this week, I know it will be tough this weekend being in Houston but I have confidence that I can stick to my points and stay on track.

How did your week go? Did you reach a goal? Do you have anything to share? I love to hear about y'all :-) so feel free to share!

PS. To see pictures of me at the beginning of my journey and a picture of me yesterday after my 10 pound loss go over to my McFatty Monday tab!

Week Seven Down

Posted on 7:42 AM by Unknown
Good morning! Happy President's Day, I hope you were lucky enough to have the day off like me and Parker. While I'm writing this Parker is rummaging through his toy box and finding things he hasn't played with in months.

I'm not sure what we'll do today, maybe go walk around Target and then go play at the mall. Whatever we do I know we'll have a good time on our Mommy and Parker day. We were supposed to be spending the day with GiGi but she's hurt her back and will be at the doctor's office. We hope you feel better soon GiGi!

So on to my McFatty report, it was an alright week! I lost half a pound, I'm not overjoyed but it's definitely better than nothing. I know for a fact it was due to all of the junk I ate, I'll be cutting down on my girl scout cookies this week and also the potato chips.

C25K was a kick in my butt, I think I'm just going to start over with week 1 this week because I didn't finish and I couldn't jog every time I was supposed to. I do have more energy though and I feel better.

I have some awesome news, I am wearing a pair of shorts right now that I bought 3 summers ago! They're size 12 from Old Navy and I know they were purchased before I got pregnant. I'm very excited that they fit. Now, whether or not I wear them out in public just yet is a different story.

I'm half a pound away from my 10 pound goal and I'm looking forward to this week. Maybe next Monday I'll take a picture to compare to my before picture.

Anyone have anything exciting to share this week? Have a great holiday...or week day if you had to work.

McFatty Monday Week 6

Posted on 8:49 AM by Unknown
Somehow I lost track of my weeks or didn't count week one...not sure what happened there but anyhow, I'm on week 7 now! How did that happen?!

So week 6 was pretty plain, nothing extrodinary happened and I didn't have any bad days. I was satisfied this morning when I weighed, not loss but no gain either. I stayed the same and that's perfectly fine!

I went to Houston this weekend so there was fast food on the menu but I tried to make smart choices. I miss ice cream though...a dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard would be awesome right now ha-ha.

So I don't have much to report for last week. How did your week go? Anything happen that you want to share? I like to know how y'all are doing and what happens during your week...I'm just nosey like that.

Tonight marks week 1 of C25K! Wish me luck!

What a Surprise

Posted on 7:21 AM by Unknown
Good McFatty Monday to everyone! Let me start off by saying, what a week! After 3 weeks of counting, planning and being strict on myself I had a week where I did none of that!

This week, week 4, was more relaxed than any other WW week. I tracked my points and ate correct portions but I wasn't hard on myself if I went over my daily points and dipped into my weekly allowance.

If you weren't aware, Texas had a bit of a winter freeze so there was a lot of "eat what you can and don't worry about it" going on. This translated means fast food. I ate chick fil a, barbeque and pizza. All things you wouldn't think I should eat but I ate correct portion sizes and stopped eating when I wasn't hungry anymore. Just because it's on your plate doesn't mean you have to eat it!

So Sunday I was fully prepared to be disappointed, I took in a breath and stepped on the scale and...I lost 2 pounds! WHAT? I was shocked...How did I manage that?

I'm still not sure but I was happy. I did get a little warning about my rapid weight loss though and how it can be dangerous to my health so I'm keeping an eye on that.

I learned a big lesson, yes you should stay in your points range but going over every now and then isn't the end of the world. You can still eat the good stuff within reason and just because it's on your plate doesn't mean you HAVE to eat it.

How was your week? Did you surprise yourself? What did you learn?

Have a great Monday everyone!

New Look

Posted on 7:32 AM by Unknown
As you can see, I'm going with a new look. I wanted something pretty and something without pictures in the header so I don't feel like I need to change them every time Parker changed. That's alot ha-ha!

I'm still getting things figured out and have a few more changes I'd  like to make. I've been trying to do that Kevin and Amanda tutorial to get the font of my titles the same as my header with no luck. I got it to work last time and if I were being smart, I would have just replaced the old info with the new. I wasn't thinking and now its gone!

Anyway other that blog changes, I've also...well I should say WE because Michael helped A TON. We've made a few changes to the house! I'm so happy about it and I'm glad to say that while Michael was sceptical at first, he loves the new look too.  We didn't go crazy, just moved some furniture but it made a big difference. I'll post pictures soon!

I'm off to clean the house and do some running around before our superbowl party, have a great Sunday!

Wednesday Night Dinner

Posted on 7:39 AM by Unknown
Last night Michael, Parker and I went out to dinner with T-Paw (Michael's dad) and Grandpa (Michael's Grandpa) at Applebee's. I chose Applebee's because they have Weight Watchers meals on their menu and Parker was able to eat there with no problems.

I scanned the menu and noticed 2 meals that I had enough points for, the Chipotle Chicken and the cajun Lime Tilapia. I wasn't sure which I wanted because they were both out of my norm. I looked at each item and read what was in/on it and eventually went with the tilapia.

Just so you know, this was a big step for me...I don't like seafood. I'll eat catfish every now and then but I lean more toward chicken. I didn't get the chicken because it had chipotle sauce and it said it was spicy AKA I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food.

When I got my meal it looked delicious, it smelled good and I was ready to dig in! I wasn't disappointed but I didn't really like it. I ate about half of the fish and all of the rice and broccoli. Next time I'll try the chicken ha-ha but if you're a fish person I'm sure you'd love it.

Oh and I ate a few of Parker's french fries ha-ha...he was feeding them to me, I couldn't resist!

Parker was so cute last night feeding T-Paw his french fries. I'm positive he probably gave him one or two mushy ones ha-ha I guess he had to taste them to make sure they were good.

I love dinner with family and I'm glad we get to do it most weeks, it's always nice to spend time with family while eating a good meal.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying warm. We had some snow flurries on the ground this morning, it looked like dip in dots ha-ha. I was so excited! I hope we get more so Parker can go play in it, he was sick last year and didn't get to get out in it.

Have a wonderful Thursday where ever you are!

Cold

Posted on 8:42 AM by Unknown
I decided that since it's 17 degrees outside today with a windchill making it feel like 9...yes you read that right, NINE degrees, I am going to drink a cup of hot chocolate and NOT feel guilty about it. 5 points for a cup of hot chocolate was better than 13 for a White Mocha from good ol' Starbucks.

The state of Texas has announced a state wide emergency and has issued controlled rolling blackouts lasting 15-45 minutes throughout the day. Doesn't that sound lovely? So we're at work and the power has already gone out here twice but only for about 15 or 20 minutes at a time. I'm bundled up in my heavy jacket and have on fuzzy socks and boots with fur har-har.

Not sure how this is going to affect daycare but I haven't heard anything from them so I assume they've got power at the moment.

Anyway back to my diet. I still have 14 points for dinner but I'm afraid I've calculated my lunch wrong. Tonight we're going to Applebees and I hope I find a Weight Watcher meal I will enjoy. I've never eaten them there and I tend to get a pasta bowl when we go (pre-diet).

Hope you all stay warm and cozy today!
