from Glasses to Homecomings!

Posted on 3:43 PM by Unknown
I’ve been meaning to post for a couple of days now but of course I got distracted…no surprise there! There hasn’t been too much going on around here lately, just normal things. Michael and I went to the eye doctor last week and we are both getting new prescriptions. Michael is getting bifocals, which is going to be great for his job but he has been getting teased about it since he told everyone. I didn’t get new glasses, I just kept my old frames that I love and got new lenses but Dr. Bouge said my vision is getting better! I’ll never be able to not wear glasses, I’ve had to wear them since I was three, but at least I know my vision is improving!

Parker had his nine month shots on the same day as our eye appointment. I was so proud of him, he didn’t cry at all! He did fuss for a second but after that he was just fine. I was most surprised that he didn’t cry when they pricked his finger to get some blood for his iron test. He cried every other time he has had it done, I guess he is getting tough!

Parker is starting to get a little bit of separation anxiety which I am told is normal for this age and that the phase will pass. I saw its full force on Tuesday. I had to go back up to daycare about thirty minutes after I dropped him off because he needed diapers. While I was there I picked him up for a minute and was talking to him and giving him kisses and when I put him down he started balling. I don’t mean fussing, I mean crying BIG tears…so like any mom, I picked him back up and told him it was OK, but that Mommy had to go back to work but that I would be back in a little while to get him. I put him down on the floor and walked pretty fast out of the gate which he crawled to at lightning speed, crying all the way. I couldn’t look, I just kept on walking...no mom likes it when their baby cries, ESPECIALLY when he is crying “MAMA! WAAAA MAMA!” It took all I had not to go get him lol. I am such an enabler. So I got back to work and the day went by pretty quickly and when I got there he was all smiles. He does the fussy crying thing anytime I leave his sight, I hope this phase is fast.

Sunday is Father’s Day! Michael got his first Father’s Day card yesterday; it was from my Granny Shayne. I almost cried…I know I am such a goof, it was so sweet though! She wrote “Love, Granny Shayne” ha-ha not “Have a Happy Father’s Day, Shayne” I guess I knew she would, she is so sweet! I love my Granny Shayne. So anyway we have no plans to “celebrate” we’re just going to spend time together and go visit T-Paw. I told him the day is for him to do WHATEVER he wants to do so we’ll see.
Sunday afternoon, with Michael’s permission, a friend from work is taking some pictures of Parker! I am SO excited! We can never have too many pictures of our little man. I will post when I get them! She will also be taking Parker’s first birthday pictures which I think are going to be super cute!

I have some very happy news!! My brother Robert is coming home!!!! He is officially a civilian and veteran! I am very happy that he is coming home; we all missed him like crazy the last 4 years. He will be home next month and everyone up here in Lufkin will get to meet him at Parker’s birthday party!

Well I think that’s everything for now!
